Vodou's privacy toolkit, explained
By Vodou Team
Vodou's privacy design starts from a simple default: your cookies and browsing history live in memory only, and disappear the moment you close the window. On top of that off-the-record profile, a handful of protections run entirely on your own device — nothing about your browsing is sent anywhere to power them.
A request interceptor blocks roughly 3,500 known tracker and ad domains, with a live counter in the footer and a Blocking report you can open from the ☰ menu. Deceptive-site protection checks every address you navigate to for look-alike, punycode, and typosquatting imitations of well-known brands, entirely on-device. Safe Browsing checks the same navigation against public phishing/malware domain lists — downloaded periodically, checked locally, with no per-URL lookup ever leaving your machine. And a built-in encrypted password vault (scrypt + Fernet, with optional FIDO2 security-key two-factor) means you don't need a separate password manager app.
None of this is described as making you anonymous — it doesn't, and no browser honestly can. It's a set of specific, verifiable things Vodou does on your device, documented in full in the Help Center's Privacy & Security section.
